De-cluttering can be so much more than just throwing away some things you no longer want/use.
Sometimes we need to take the time to de-clutter every aspect of our lives. Leaving us in a far better and organised place.
So today I’m going to give you ten things you can do to ensure you thoroughly declutter your life.
Clean Out Your Room/Home
If it’s your house, take some time to thoroughly go through it all. If you only have a to clean, then just work on that.
Throw Out/Donate/Sell What You No Longer Need
If you don’t need it, why do you still have it? Bite the bullet and say goodbye to what you don’t need!
Give your stuff a new home.
Dust, Clean Windows, Vaccum
Remove the dirt. A cleaner room is a better room!
Go Through Your Wardrobe
Haven’t worn it in the last 12 months? Get rid.
Don’t keep what you don’t wear. Either gain some space or replace them with footwear you’ll use.
Clean up your files. Delete what’s not needed. Organise your files so they’re easy to navigate.
Remove/Unfollow unneeded people.
Ensuring your paperwork is organised, up to date, and unnecessary files are properly disposed of can be a weight off of your shoulders.
Declutter Your Mind
This is the most important one. For the ideas, the creativity, and thoughts you don’t want to forget. Write them all down and keep those notes in a safe place — I’d suggest writing by hand first, then typing it out.
For the negative and more toxic thoughts, take scrap paper — or any paper you have to hand. Must be paper! Write down everything and anything which comes to mind. Pour all of those bad thoughts onto the paper. After, dispose of it all. Whether you choose to shred it, burn it, whatever way you want to dispose of it. Know you’re allowed to release those thoughts from yourself when you dispose of it.
While I don’t fully go into detail on a lot of these, they are all really self-explanatory. This list is something I plan to refer to when I need to give my life a thorough declutter.
