Things that need to change on social media

Hello everybody!
Today, we’re going over the annoyances of social media, the things which really need to change.

We’ve all been there, and we’re all complaining about it here and there, at least us lot on twitter are!

So without further ado, let’s get onto what needs to change:

Social Media

Posts not being in chronological order.

Not to call anyone out – Instagram – but really, Instagram, we want our feed to be full of posts in chronological order. No one wants to see a post someone uploaded three hours ago, for the next post to be from twenty minutes ago, and the post after being from a day ago. No. I, and an awful lot of others, want to see the images when they’re uploaded. By everyone I follow. I don’t have “preferred” accounts. I follow who I want to follow.

Speaking of who I want to follow…

The follow/unfollow game.

The only people who don’t despise this are the people who, for whatever bloody reason, do it.

Only follow someone if you like what they post. Don’t just follow it as an attempt to grow your following. It’s a dick move. You’re an ass for doing it.

Buying followers.

Look, if you have 100k followers and only managing to get 50 likes on a photo, we know those followers aren’t genuine. If anything, we get second-hand embarrassment.

There are far better things you could spend your money on.

Expecting people to follow you back.

Just because you followed someone, does not mean that they like what you post.

Personally, when it comes to my Instagram, I want to see blog related posts, flat lays, inspiring images to overall help me feel creative and inspired. So I’ll follow an account who has that.
I have a personal account to see and post all the selfies on. Where I’ll post as much or as little as I want on it. Just because you like their content, doesn’t mean they’ll like yours.

We all have our own tastes, it’s personal preference.

While this only covers a small portion of things that need to change on social media, it’s a start into seeing what could be done, or what mindsets could change to help everyone enjoy the overall experience more.

What’re your go-to social media platforms? For me, it’s Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest!

Until next time,
